Privacy
Effective 1 October 2026. Applies to Prose & Pigment for iPhone and iPad.
Prose & Pigment collects nothing. I run no server for it, so there is nowhere for your data to go.
What the app does not do
- It has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting.
- It has no accounts and no sign-in.
- It contains no code from any analytics or advertising company.
- It makes no network requests. The pages it shows are not allowed to load images, fonts or anything else from the internet.
What the app touches
The files you open
When you choose a file, iOS gives the app access to that file only. The app reads it on your device to show it to you. It never changes, copies, moves or uploads the file.
Your settings
The app stores your choice of themes and of light or dark appearance on your device, in the standard iOS settings storage. It stays there.
What ships inside the app
The fonts, the themes and the welcome document are part of the app. Reading them touches nothing of yours.
Two things that do leave the app
In neither case does the app send anything, but you should know about both.
- Web links. If you tap a link to a web page, the app hands the address to Safari, and Safari loads the page under its own privacy rules.
- Files in iCloud Drive. If you open a file that is in iCloud Drive but not yet on your device, the app asks iOS to download it. That transfer is between your device and Apple.
Sharing and keeping
The app does not send, share, sell or keep any personal data, because it never collects any. If you delete the app, your settings are deleted with it.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version replaces this page and the date at the top changes with it.
